A Few More Photos

I've been messing around with stitching together panoramas for my computer, so here are a couple. Two different views of the station (the nice place where I work but don't get to sleep...), here and here . A better photo of me at the Pole . A photo of the new 10 meter South Pole Telescope that's being built down here. And another photo of me that I just like, for some reason.
[Note: The satellite is about to go down, so if some of these links don't work, check back later. I'll get the photos there eventually...]

The photos look pretty cool Mike. Hope you're having a great time. Nice on getting the Moosejaws bottle in there. Double Points! Have you read Shackleton yet. If not I still have a copy waiting for you. Send me your address and it's yours.

Has the harshness of the continent prevented you from sipping coffee while staring out your window? Don't think you'd forget how to do that, would you?

He's already forgotten and sold out to tea. Bet you miss your low acid orange juice in the Pole, don't you?

Q: Does "Friends of Peabody" remember the cup Mikey D would drink from while leering at the Peabody School? A: The D'Agostino crest mug, which displayed the family coat of arms including a tortoise holding a coffee mug in one limb and a cross of crayons in the other.
Score one point for american culture that the stars and stripes fly higher than any other flag at the pole.
Deduct one point for american culture that South Pole "adventurers" lament a malfunctioning ice cream machine.
The good thing Mike is that unless another ice sheet breaks off, if you do break your leg while wearing birkenstocks and orange/pink alpaca wool socks, they won't have to eat you to survive a la Shackleton or Alive or something like that. But who knows what could happen to the medevac airplane...
